Components of the projet
- Create an author authority database to assign identifiers to authors on the OpenEdition platforms. The aim is to identify all their publications across the four platforms and make them available in a single index.
- Enhance the metadata submitted to Crossref by modernising the code for DOI registration and using the latest version of the Crossref metadata schema.
Major resuts
- 90% of books and 50% of chapters on OpenEdition Books, as well as 40% of articles in OpenEdition Journals, now have IdRef identifiers (data as of 21 March 2025).
- A new plugin allows journal editorial teams to link authors to their IdRef identifiers.
- The integration of new metadata on Crossref has begun: 21% of licence URLs and 12% of abstracts are included in the article metadata (data as of 21/03/2026).
