iPRES 2022

Conference

Digital preservation is a shared challenge, and it’s the challenge the Digital Preservation Coalition (DPC) has faced since our foundation 20 years ago. Now in 2022, it is our privilege and our very great pleasure to invite you to join us as we celebrate twenty years together, in our home city of Glasgow, at the International Conference on Digital Preservation, iPres 2022.

Over the course of five days, between 12th and 16th September 2022, for delegates participating in person the conference will take place at the impressive Technology & Innovation Centre in Glasgow city center, and those joining remotely will have access to a substantial online program.

Call for Contributions

This is the full Call for Contributions for the 18th International Conference on Digital Preservation, iPres 2022. iPres 2022 will be a hybrid conference and proposals are welcome whether or not contributors expect to be present on site.

The theme for iPres 2022 –  Data for all, for good, for ever: Let Digits Flourish – invites reflection and debate on how digital preservation can support flourishing communities, ecologies and economies and ideas.

In keeping with the theme, we will embrace creative proposals that demonstrate how research and theory directly impact and influence practice at all levels. iPres brings together a wide range of practitioners, researchers, educators, providers, students, and others to share lessons learned from engaging in digital preservation, including recent practice, research, developments, and innovations.

More information

All submissions and presentations should be in English. Instructions for each peer-reviewed submission type (papers, panels, posters, workshops, tutorials, hack-a-thons and the Digital Preservation Bake-Off Challenge) are to be found in the ‘How to contribute section’. Please note that when your proposal is accepted, you are required to attend the conference in person or online: registration is mandatory.

We want iPres 2022 to be the best iPres yet. Is there anything else you think we should consider, or anything you want to ask us, let us know via ipres2022@in-conference.org.uk.

We look forward to seeing you in September 2022. Give us a tweet @ipres2022 and we’ll tweet back.
