CoARA’s first working groups

The Coalition on Advancing Research Assessment (CoARA) has announced that it has set up its first Working Groups and National Chapters.

This positive development results from a call made to Coalition members last March. The aim is to promote exchanges of knowledge, share a wide range of experiences and produce results to support CoARA members in putting into practice the commitments they made when they joined the Coalition. The Working Groups are a core element of the Coalition’s mission – to promote and enable a systemic reform of research evaluation. The working groups are based on a bottom-up approach with the voluntary participation of members. They function as ‘communities of practice’ that offer mutual learning and collaboration opportunities in specific areas.

Ten Working Groups and the first five National Chapters were selected from all the proposals submitted and have been approved to start their activities within the framework of CoARA. This structuring is ongoing as all the working groups can take on new members and the call remains open for applications for the working groups and national chapters. CoARA’s Steering Board will examine new proposals every month.
