Symposium and summit on Software Heritage 2024

Conference

Highlights of the 2024 Software Heritage Symposium

This symposium is aimed at researchers, academics and PhD students from all disciplines, research support staff (whether or not they develop software: research data management, for example, depends closely on software management), and at professionals involved in the preservation of digital heritage.

The Software Heritage features is an infrastructure supported by Inria and Unesco. It is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing publicly available software source codes. Software Heritage’s services are aimed at a wide community of users: research, business, the cultural sector and the state administration.

The symposium will address the following topics:

  • Software source code as documentary heritage and catalyst for historical research
  • The scientific challenges of analyzing and learning from archived source code
  • Source code as a key research output in the open science ecosystem
  • Source code as a driver for innovation and sharing in industry and government
