EOSC-Pillar Final Event

Forum

Description and Scope

The EOSC-Pillar Final Event: Building an EOSC from National Contributions will highlight some of the main results of the EOSC-Pillar project alongside other European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) regional projects and national initiatives, in particular how they provide important foundations for the operations and sustainability of EOSC. The event also aims to provide a forum for the EOSC community at the European level and the national initiative representatives to meet and generate collaborations and meaningful activities.

Since beginning in July 2019, EOSC-Pillar has worked with key representatives of national Open Science initiatives in Austria, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy to ensure their contribution and  readiness for the implementation of EOSC. EOSC-Pillar has analysed the state of the art of national initiatives and compute and data services and supported consolidation, harmonised procedures for the delivery of horizontal enabling services for research data across countries, collaborated with other initiatives to achieve harmonisation for an inclusive EOSC, promoted FAIR data uptake at national levels and across scientific communities and borders, enabled non-commercial transnational services to accessible through the EOSC Portal, built an active stakeholder community of EOSC supporters in each country, and proposed viable business models for the sustainable provision of transnational services. At the same time, its counterpart projects also worked towards similar goals in their own regions and national institutions worked towards aligning better with EOSC.

Understand how well integrated are national initiatives to EOSC and where else does the work remain. Be sure to join us (limited seats available)
