CRIS2020: New Technologies and Open Science in CRIS Systems REPORT en automne

Conférence
We’re sorry to announce that the CRIS2020 conference planned for June 17-20, 2020 at the Cyprus University of Technology (CUT) in Limassol has now officially been postponed due to the current Covid-19 health emergency.
We are aiming to hold the conference at the same venue later this year in the slot we would normally allocate to our Autumn membership meeting, i.e. Oct or Nov’2020. We will confirm the final dates for the event as soon as possible.

CRIS 2020 is the fifteen edition in a biennial series of conferences devoted to improving the availability of and access to research information systems across Europe. The target audience includes managers of research-performing and/or funding institutions, evaluators, librarians, ICT experts, as well as policy makers. euroCRIS is a non-profit professional association of CRIS experts and custodian of the Common European Research Information Format (CERIF).

Call for Proposals

The CRIS 2020 conference will address recent trends in the significance, position and use of Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) and more specifically their meaning for Open Science and its promotion. For this purpose, the conference will bring together researchers, managers of research-performing or funding institutions, evaluators, librarians, research administrators, ICT experts and policy makers.

The general theme of the conference is “New Technologies and Open Science in CRIS Systems”, emphasising the need to leverage new technological breakthroughs and changes for the benefits of research information and science in combination with the advance in the practice of sharing the results of research in an open and accessible way.

Current Research Information Systems (CRIS) play a pivotal role in this respect as they hold a vast set of interlinked pieces of information (metadata) about virtually all aspects and objects of research, and as such provide an indispensable resource for FAIR and Open Science and to optimally realise all the benefits of scientific progress.

The growing emphasis on openness and reproducibility of research, maximising the impact and knowledge transfer, safeguarding the quality and integrity of research and improving the dissemination of research results – covering publications, but also datasets and software – all require optimal solutions for storage, communication, exchange and assessment of research information.

At this 15th International Conference on Current Research Information Systems we invite the interested audience to bring forward and discuss ideas, solutions and experiences related to both the central theme and more generally to the present role and position of CRIS, and to report on relevant developments going on at a local, national or international level.
