Celebrating 3 Years of CoARA: Upcoming Hybrid Side Event In Copenhagen
CoARA, together with the European University Association, Science Europe, and the European Commission, is hosting a dedicated, hybrid side event on 3 December at 9h-11h (CET) to mark CoARA’s 3rd anniversary under the theme, “Celebrating three years of CoARA: Collectively shaping the future of research assessment.”
This event will bring together leading voices for a high-level discussion on how CoARA’s principles continue to guide research assessment reform in a rapidly changing world. Through panel discussions and interactive Q&A sessions, the event will explore the continued relevance of CoARA’s principles and how to further strengthen joint efforts in the context of emerging challenges, such as:
- The rise of AI in research and evaluation
- Geopolitics and data sovereignty
- New expectations on integrity, openness, and research careers
Speakers include:
- Henk Kummeling, Chair of CoARA
- Lidia Borrell-Damian, Secretary General Science Europe
- Kelly Cobey, Vice Chair of Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA)
- Richard Williams, Technical University of Munich
- Jon Holm, The Research Council of Norway
Members of the CoARA Steering Board, including Vice Chairs Dr. Elizabeth Gadd and Dr. Karen Stroobants, as well as Janne Pölönen and Cameron Neylon, will also be present to moderate panel discussions and to foster mutual exchange with the CoARA community during this important milestone.
The event will also offer an opportunity to celebrate the collective progress made in advancing responsible research assessment over the past three years! For onsite participants, there will be cake and coffee during the event, as well as birthday cards to write best wishes for the years to come and to celebrate the progress achieved on the coalition’s third birthday.
